Eat My Scout was formed in May 2000.
It was a pet project of DaveAswad and YodaDuke that took off in a big way. It all started with two real life friends who wanted to make more of their gaming experience and help others to develop their style of play, and it evolved into a well recognised clan with the potential, determination and talent to make it to the top.
From the day {E.M.S} was conceived it drew in talented players from all over the globe to join up and form it’s ranks, strangers who became friends through the joy of playing the game, always able to count on each other and always ready to play and have a good time doing so.
During the first year of {E.M.S}, the rapid expansion was so great that the clan was split up into 2 teams:
EMS-EU for all of our European based members
EMS-US/C for all of our USA and Canada based memebers
After our first year, interest in Tribes from the community was lacking, but a life line was available, the iminent release of Tribes 2!
So we moved over to Tribes 2. {E.M.S} Eat My Scout became {EMS} Eat My Shrike, again 1 team instead of our 2 split regions. New people from all over the world asked to join us, within 5 months we had recruited a member total of 40 players and were ready to try and improve on what turned out to be a fun but underacheiving Tribes 1 run.
We played competetively in the European Ladder, making it all the way up to 11th out of 70+ teams, which was much better than our previous 51st on the Tribes 1 European Ladder.
We had fun, and we were winning too, which was a new experience compared to our Tribes 1 days.
Unfortunately, some people took it beyond the fun and wanted nothing but success. The die hard EMS members of old who were after nothing but fun started to find themselves wanting, so, after trying to get the fun back in for 2 months, {EMS} was retired from active competition on the 3rd of July 2002. The majority of the core members who'd been with EMS from the start of the Tribes 1 days retired from playing too.
DaveAswad quit online gaming after trying to get his enthusiasm back by joining {n2o}
YodaDuke quit Tribes 2 and started playing Myth of Soma
Wolfman quit online gaming and cancelled his internet connection
Sub-Zero quit online gaming after a stint with {n2o}
And that was the end of the {EMS} era... or so we thought.
Along comes the 4th of May 2003 and DaveAswad enquires to see if there would be an interest in restarting EMS under the old flag of FUN!
The response was intense, people from old, coming out of retirement to come back to EMS, old memebers left their current clans to come back 'home' and new people emerged who were interested in the ideal of the old EMS way. EMS will rejoin the European base 14v14 ladder and get back the fun days of old, with old core members like:
